Overview
The Overlord is former bulky football player, who now serves as a Miniboss zombie that spawns every 5 minutes in Endless, or once in a normal mode once 1 minute remains, or when threat level reaches 100% for the first time. He has a very large appearance and is a light blue color, as well as having his own "theme" that plays when he is spawned in, until he dies. When an Overlord is about to spawn in, one zombie player will see a message saying that they will be the overlord and the human team will see a message saying that "An Overlord is coming!"
The Overlord has 3 attacks, with his Punch being his main attack with no ability cooldown time and 2 abilities (Stomp and Slam) which each triggers the cooldown of the other ability when used.
Base walk-speed of an Overlord is 15, unless there are 6+ survivors when he spawns, then his walk-speed is 18. (survivors base walk-speed is 16)
Abilities
Punch
- Deals 25 damage, briefly ragdolls target, and sends them flying away from the Overlord.
Slam
- Slams the ground in front of the Overlord, creating a wave of numerous spikes that rise up out of the ground in a straight line. Each spike deals 15 damage if it hits a Conscript.
Stomp
- The Overlord stomps his foot, creating a star-shaped pattern of spikes that radiate outwards from the Overlord, but not nearly as far as the slam attack.
ZomRage
- The Overlord stands still and screams in the air and then goes berserk. Zom-Rage is more powerful the lower health you use it at. Going into rage mode visually changes the Overlord with each stage and gives a boost to speed, health, and ranged damage resistance. Zom-Rage is divided into 6 different levels, each level depends on the health of the Overlord when the ability is used and gives different amount of boosts as well as different visual changes to Overlord.
- Below is a table containing all the health thresholds needed to activate different rage levels and what benefits each level provides.
- Level 6 has the same visual effect as Level 5.
Level | MaxHP% > | HP% Healed | Speed Boost | Ranged Damage Resistance |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | >80% | 20% | +1 (5%) | 0% |
2 | >60% | 15% | +1.5 (10%) | 10% |
3 | >40% | 20% | +3 (20%) | 20% |
4 | >20% | 25% | +4.5 (30%) | 35% |
5 | >5% | 25% | +5 (35%) | 50% |
6 | Under 5% | 50% | +8 (55%) | 75% |
Enhanced Form
- The Overlord's spikes are now made of partially-molten rock, causing them to glow and emit flames, any Conscripts hit by these spikes will take afterburn damage. The spikes from both Slam and Stomp travel out much further than normal.
Playing As
- Try to focus on one or a few targets at a time; Conscripts can easily outrun you and chip away at your health.
- Use your Slam attack to create a line of spikes ahead of where your target is running, to try and cut off their escape route(s).
- Use your Stomp attack to create a ring of spikes around yourself if you corner a target, so they're trapped and easier to deal with.
- If the map has any hazards that deals low, but consistent amount of damage(fire/gas/etc) use it to your advantage to easily get your health low enough for a level 6 rage.
- Beware that you can't do anything for the duration of ZomRage when you're still screaming in the air, this will leave you vulnerable for a while to Conscripts.
- In a map like Convoy, be aware that you can fall and die in that map if not careful, which can make the Overlord die instantly.
Playing Against
- Keep track of where the Overlord is. Your best advantage is to keep your distance, and since you can outrun him you need to focus on not getting cornered.
- If an Overlord manages to get close to you, remember his fists will send you flying away. Try to be mindful of where you stand so that he doesn't fling you into a map hazard or other sources of danger. If you're smart, you could even position yourself to get flung into safety.
- Aiming for the body is good if you need to get quick damage, but if you focus on breaking his helmet you can much more quickly chip away at his health with headshots.
- The Atomizer's shield is the only thing that can outright deny an Overlord. If you find yourself having trouble dealing with them, consider this weapon.
- Overlord cannot do anything if he ZomRages for some times, take this as an opportunity to strike on Overlord, as there is a chance you can kill Overlord while he's still performing a rage!
