Harry Potter and the Ashes of Tomorrow - Expanding the Sanctuary (2025)

The discovery of 400 new acres had sparked a wave of excitement throughout the sanctuary. With the eastern forest and western plains now part of the dome's protected area, Harry and his team wasted no time in planning how to develop the newly expanded land.

The possibilities were endless, and the team gathered in the library to brainstorm.

A Vision for the East and West

Harry spread a map of the sanctuary across the table, his wand tracing the boundaries of the new land.

"We have 200 acres of forest to the east and 200 acres of plains to the west," he began. "The question is: how do we use it?"

Luna tilted her head, her eyes drifting over the map. "The eastern forest feels alive already. It would be perfect for more habitats—places where creatures that love the trees can roam freely."

Draco tapped the western plains with his quill. "The plains are ideal for expansion. Barns, stables, farmland—we can make the sanctuary more self-sufficient."

Hagrid leaned forward, his eyes shining with excitement. "We could even create new habitats for grazin' creatures out west. Thestrals, maybe some Erumpents. They'd love the space."

Harry nodded. "It sounds like we have a plan. Let's split the focus—habitats in the east, farming and grazing in the west. Skarrik, can your team handle both projects?"

The goblin, seated across from Harry, gave a sharp nod. "We can. But it will require time and resources."

"Whatever you need, you'll have it," Harry said firmly.

The Eastern Forest

The team began by surveying the eastern forest. The area was lush and vibrant, with towering trees, winding streams, and patches of sunlight filtering through the canopy. It was a haven for creatures that thrived in woodland environments.

Skarrik's engineers designed a series of interconnected habitats, each tailored to specific species.

Thick Underbrush Habitat: For Acromantulas and other ground-dwelling creatures that preferred dense vegetation.
Tree Canopy Habitat: For Bowtruckles, Jobberknolls, and Diricawls that lived among the branches.
Waterway Habitat: For creatures like Kappas and Dugbogs that needed access to fresh water.

The designs blended seamlessly with the natural environment, using enchantments to enhance rather than alter the land.

Hagrid was particularly excited about the new habitats. "This forest'll be a paradise for 'em," he said as he and Luna walked through the area. "They'll have everything they need right here."

Luna smiled, her gaze soft as she watched a pair of wild Bowtruckles dart across a branch. "It's already becoming a home."

The Western Plains

The western plains offered a stark contrast to the dense forest. The open, rolling fields stretched as far as the eye could see, their grasses swaying gently in the breeze.

Skarrik's team began laying the groundwork for expanded barns and stables. These new structures were designed to house larger creatures like Thestrals, Abraxans, and Erumpents, as well as more mundane livestock to support the sanctuary's growing population.

Draco took charge of planning the farmland, working closely with goblin agricultural experts to design enchanted irrigation systems and soil enhancements.

"We'll start with staple crops," Draco explained during a meeting. "Grains, vegetables, and fruit. Enough to sustain the sanctuary and reduce our reliance on outside resources."

Harry nodded. "What about grazing land?"

Hagrid chimed in, his voice enthusiastic. "There's plenty o' room for herds o' Thestrals and Hippogriffs. They'll thrive out here."

The western plains also became the proposed site for a new habitat—a sprawling grasslands environment for creatures like Nifflers and Jarveys.

Progress on Both Fronts

As the weeks passed, the sanctuary buzzed with activity.

In the eastern forest, the habitats took shape. Enchanted pathways wound through the trees, connecting observation points and care stations for the caretakers. The waterways sparkled with magic, their banks lined with lush vegetation.

Hagrid beamed as he watched the first creatures arrive—a family of Jobberknolls that immediately took to the canopy habitat. Their soft, musical calls echoed through the trees, blending with the sound of the wind.

In the western plains, the first barns and stables were completed, their sturdy structures standing proudly against the open sky. Fields were planted with crops, the enchanted soil promising bountiful harvests.

Nimbus, the Abraxan mare, was one of the first to move into the new stables. She whinnied softly as Hagrid led her to her new home, her large eyes scanning the open fields with approval.

"She'll be happy here," Hagrid said, patting her side. "Plenty o' space to stretch her wings."

A New Balance

By the end of the month, the expanded land had become an integral part of the sanctuary. The eastern forest buzzed with life, its habitats blending seamlessly with the trees. The western plains thrived with new structures, fertile fields, and grazing creatures.

One evening, Harry stood at the edge of the western plains, watching the sun set over the rolling fields. Luna and Draco joined him, their expressions reflecting the same sense of wonder.

"This place keeps growing," Luna said softly. "It's becoming something bigger than any of us imagined."

Draco smirked, though his tone was less sharp than usual. "Let's hope it can handle all this growth, Potter. You're building a world here."

Harry smiled. "That's the plan."

As the stars began to dot the sky, the sanctuary seemed to hum with life. The dome, the land, the people, and the creatures—they were all part of something extraordinary, something worth protecting.
