What You Will Need
You will only need a few common ingredients to make this sweet snack mix. For full ingredient amounts, scroll to the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.
- Sugar: You will need a combination of granulated sugar and brown sugar.
- Cinnamon
- Chex Cereal: I used rice Chex, but you can use whatever kind you prefer. I recommend using one that is not overly sweet.

How To Make Churro Chex Mix
This Churro Chex Mix makes your entire house smell AMAZING as it bakes. It’s like the best candle in the world, except you get to eat it. For full detailed directions see the recipe card at the bottom of this post.
- Prep: Prepare the cinnamon sugar mixture and set aside. In a large bowl, stir together Chex cereal and pretzels. Set aside.
- Coat: In a medium sized bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and vanilla. Pour over the cereal and pretzels and toss to coat.
- Cinnamon Sugar: Sprinkle cinnamon mixture over cereal and toss again to coat. Transfer to a baking sheet and spread into an even layer.
- Bake: Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
- Caramel: Let cool for 15 minutes and then add the caramels.
- Serve: Serve immediately or store in an aright container for later!
Tips and Variations
- Even Coating: Ensure the Chex cereal is evenly coated in the butter mixture by gently tossing with your hands or two spatulas during the mixing process. If it’s not evenly covered in butter, the cinnamon sugar will have nothing to stick to.
- Nutty Crunch: Add your favorite nuts like almonds, pecans, or cashews for an extra layer of crunch.
- Chocolate: Churros and chocolate go great together! Mix in a handful of chocolate chips or drizzle melted chocolate over the Churro Chex Mix.
How To Store
Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze in a sealed bag or container for up to three months. Just be sure to bring it back to room temperature before serving for the best taste and texture.
